This website is really interisting and the whole family about the Tsars ' overall I think thi website is a great place to learn all about anastasia, aslo i really like the winterpalace, it's pretty.

I think this is wonderful story of your life sad but it shows your bravery i would love to have you tell me the story of your excape
i was watching the disney's anastasia, and wanted to do some research on the net to find out the truth. it really is a heart breaking story. the family must have been extremely close and loving to go through what they did. but its horrible to read a sad ending, it does post questions though, what may have happened to her? in my opinion though, i think its likely she died with the rest of the family. rest in peace.

Hi, my name is Ella. The story of Anastasia is so mysterious and sad. My heart bleed for them, and I surly want to know more. Its more different and complex then a fairy tale. I wonder, in the previous comments, who the girl was and why she was suspected to be the descendant. None of the children were married or had children. I'm so interested, but it feels wrong. It feels as if Anastasia is haunting me.

They say they found a new person who is rumored to be the descendant of the Grand Duchess Anastasia, they will conduct a DNA test this spring. I liked the animated movie very much and it is my FAVORITE movie until now. By the way, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone. :)
i was looking info up and in 2008 the scientists did a dna on anna anderson's body and she was not anastasia.
Yes there was a really grandmother . She was a danish princess named Dagmar . She was daughter of King Christian 9 .
When Dagmar married Alexander of Russia , she became Maria Feodorovna . Dagmar died in Demark in the year 1928 .
Anastasia gave her dog the American name "Jim" or "Jimmy". This is a very difficult name to spell in Russian and it gets transliterated as Jem, Gemmy - like that - which has created confusion about the dog's true name.

I've always been interested in Russian history and recently have been doing some research for a project. The site was amazingly helpful and definitely provided lots of interesting material for it, you did a wonderful job on the design and made its contents enjoyable for people of all ages.
A small mistake: We live in Russia, actually not just Russia but the Russian Empire, since we are a monarchy ruled by a Tsar-Emperor. The capital of the Russian Empire is the city of St. Petersburg on the Gulf of Finland. It was founded in 1702 by Tsar Peter the Great.

anastasia is not a myth and the way all the myths got started was they never found her body they never found her or any trace of her besides her photos but the people who imatated her were imposters the real anastasia is gone and the real identity of anastasia will always stay a mystery.
I really love the movie "Anastasia", but I also wish sometimes that her real life was what happened in the movie. I really enjoyed this site. I think that there are a total of 2 kids in my class that know the real story: me and my BFF.

i really love your website. i personally like to fantasize that anastasia lived but i know she couldn't have lived for they wouldn't take pity on her for fear of being killed by the others. i believe that the two bodies found later was the two missing family members of the romanov family. but this is rally cool.

In referring to the Great War, you have Anastasia saying "It was was called the First World War". But no one in 1917 would have known to call it such since the Second World War would not begin until 1939.

Anna Anderson is not the real Anastasia When She died they matched the d-n-a with some of heer fathers d-n-a (the blood from the masicure) and the d-n-a did not match and they also tried a lock of hair from her head and the pins that they made from hair in those days and did'nt match nethier and if that was the real Anastasia then she would of had axcess to the the money the riches and many more so you Know Goodness well that Was not her :)

Well....I will sart off by saying that Anastasia was a rare grand duchess and I did see the cartoon movie when I was young and then when I found out it was real....well I have been curious about the real life of Anastasia so I looked up some research, Of course I allready expected that some parts of the movie would be different from the real life of Anastasia, but I think its horrible that she died when only 17.......she was a beautiful young women.......and I respect her........I like your site by the way.

i love the site..i was fascinated by the history of the Nicolaevna family..and it was heartbreaking..i love them........i really enjyed reading the site...i actually had read this before when our social studies class teacher discussed this to us...he even show us a book about the romanovs...i dont really believe that Anna Anderson is Anastacia she dont even look like her.....my teacher told us that they killed them all...and buried them..but how come many claimed to be them when its obvious that the whole family were shot together with the loyal servants of the family...

I love this site. I think the story of Anastasia is very exciting. I have the disney movie and i watch it over and over again. I like the one song in the movie called "Journey To The Past" I dance and i might do that as a song for a dance solo next year. I JUST LOVE HER!!!!

it was really surprising to read about you, it is a whole different thing than what we saw on the movie "anstasia" it is my favorite movie!!1 So I guess dimitri wasn't the "kitchen boy" who opened the wall for you and your grandma to escape, and you weren't lost after all!!!
i find that the website was realy well done and very informative and for a 12 year old it"s somtimes hard to keep interest in some things (well at least for me).
I am really fastinated with Anastasia, But i dont know which to believe the other websites,the books or yours. But i personally love the cartoon version, They could of told the truth a little more but for the childrens sake it could of frightend them.

Annastasia is such a mtstery to me aswell as her family....i love to read about the family and thier history.

this site is very informing, im 15 and my mom named me after princess anastasia. i learned that she has3 sisters and one brother,i on the other hand have 3 step sisters and one brother named carles alexander evans this is very ironic, i think. plus my fathers side of the family is russian while my moms is german and irish {my grand mother is irish and my grand father german, we call them grammy and umpa for short}
this is so sad.*sniff* I really want to put this in for my project. Reading this I realized that the movie is way off. I think that this website is awesome. Oh I have this book that says they found the bones of the royal family but alixy"s and anastasa"s bones werent there so they might have managed to escape.
I am learning about Anastasia in reading class at school. I had to find a bio. about someone and read it and do some prejects. My mom found the book Anastasia's Alblum. It is a great book to read to learn info.

Anastasia was a precociously intelligent girl. I have been enormously impressed by her charm and her wit and also by her ability to surmise the human personality in less than 10 minutes.

I think it's wonderful how ana and alexi and her sisters lived in russia. I am a fan of hers and she's a historic figure like her dad.
I think Anastasia was a very caring sister to Alexi and they were so close together. I collect pictures of her inside the last tsar book I bought long time ago.

I have learned alot by this and othere websites. Anastasia is very interesting. but in one of the myths that i read they said that the "women unnown" claimed to be anistasia and she had all the right facts. she said when she escaped she married a soldier who got her out and she is carrying is baby. my teacher knows alot about this arra and she is a scinence teacher. i love the myths a bout anastaisa. why did they "kill" her i know it was a war but think about it . people died and children were not alowed to go to war because they were the future. Now why would they kill the royal children. yes they were royal and yes they were running. i can understand trying to look for them. kind. but not haveing to kill some children. i mean if they were yours would you have killed them? that is one of the questions we should be asking.
why have you used alot of her sisters picture and not anistasia? did you mean to do that? or was it a mistake?

I sort of have a question...Did they ever find or figure out who really escaped the murder? And if it was Anastasia did they ever find her?
I wish Anastasia was found. I don't think she died. I believe she lived, escaped, and hid for the rest of her life. I hate that her family died that way! That's not a good way for good people to die!!! LONG LIVE ANASTASIA!!

Anastasia was, is and always will be my favourite princess i mean why did her family have to die but i was just wondering what did happen to Anastasia and did she live after her family had been murdered. I really badly feel sorry for her and her family i love this site too and would to visit Russia and see where she lived and stuff one day when im older thanx cya.

I really enjoy this website. I have been enterestd in Anastasia my whole life. I saw the movie when I was only 2. I love the picture of Anastasia and Alexei. I think you Alexei spelt wrong. Well at least that is how it is spelt in my research book. When I look at the pictures it makes me want to cry.

I am in love to find out as much as possible about anastasia . I want to find out if she really died or if possible she did escape even though chances of that happening are getting smaller and smaller. I feel remorse over her and her family they were good people who should not have died.

Look at the pictures of Maria when she was sick after the revolution in her bedroom - you will see that odd 'bird' hanging from the chandelier. It the watercolor it looks like a splotch or a mistake, but it really was there. If somebody will write a site on Maria or Aleksey we will build it! On the page, Where We Lived, I thought that watercolor was of Olga and Tatiana's room? Wasn't Anastasia and Maria's room gray?
Maybe you should add some anecdotes and memoirs about Anastasia; everyone loves reading those. Or more of her artwork. You should really make a site about Alexei or Maria! Alexei doesn't really have a nice site of his own, which is sad. And I think you would do a good job with it.
