Pered Rasstrelom (Before the Shooting)

description:

A collection of approximately 140 letters of the imperial family written from exile in Tobolsk to friends and relations. Correspondents include: Anna Vyrubova, Marie Fyodorovna, Ksenia Aleksandrovna, Rita Khitrovo, Pyotr Petrov, Kolya Derevenko, and others.

(Title in Russian: Перед Расстрелом)

unique features:

Many letters not printed in Lifelong Passion, Memories of the Russian Court, or Fall of the Romanovs, particularly those by Olga and Tatiana Nikolaevna.

similar to:

Pis'ma Tsarskoi Sem'i iz Zatocheniia (Letters of the Tsar's Family from Captivity)

in my opinion:

Definitely worth reading if language is not a barrier. Gives a feel for the imperial family's state of mind during their captivity.
