Returning to Their Majesties' apartments by the Winter Garden, we enter the Terems Gallery, or the Corridor of the Maids of Honor.  The corridor is white; it runs along the rooms of the Maids of Honor on the 1st floor of the Terems Palace.  Before the construction of the Great Palace, the Terems Gallery had neither ceiling or windows.  Its exterior wall was built at the same time as the outer walls of the Great Palace so as to join it with the ancient parts.
