Bolshoi Kremlyovskii Dvoryets

The principal body is comprised of parts restored from the former Palace, specifically: the Palace churches, the Tsarina's Palace, the Palace of Facets, the Terems, all forming the northern part, and the Great Palace, which extends in the middle, along the principal facade, along the Moskova; to the east is the Cathedral Square, and of course the west side giving on to the Imperial Square.

The new construction is made up of ancient parts and forms with them a square in the interior courtyard in which the old church of the Savior-in-the-Forest is located.

Interior Courtyard of the Great Kremlim Palace

A winter garden, connects to the west side of the Palace, as shown above, with the apartments of Their Majesties, which is followed on one side by the Armory Palace and on the other the Palace of Diverse Pleasures and the Stables.  These buildings occupy the entire space between the Borovitskaia Gate and the Troitskaia Gate.

To the north, the Palace is connected to the Knights' Wing which runs parallel to the Palace of Diverse Pleasures, and together they form Palace Street.

Behind the Knights' Wing we find in the courtyard the Officers' Wing, that of the Grenadiers and the Kitchen Wing.
